This update enhances spoofing and jamming detection, ensuring robust performance for applications such as robotic lawnmowers, UAVs, and surveying.

u-blox has unveiled a firmware update for its ZED-F9P high-precision GNSS module, marking the first integration of Galileo OSNMA (Open Service Navigation Message Authentication). This enhancement significantly bolsters the module’s spoofing and jamming detection capabilities, ensuring robust and reliable performance across various applications, including robotic lawnmowers, unmanned aerial vehicles, and surveying and mapping.

It is the inaugural product to incorporate OSNMA, setting a new industry benchmark for GNSS security and reliability. OSNMA provides a cryptographically secure solution to spoofing, enhancing the overall integrity of the GNSS signals. This update not only strengthens the security features but also supports enhanced Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) convergence, reducing the risk of incorrect readings critical for precision-dependent applications like surveying.

The firmware update also includes support for the SPARTN Beidou satellite constellation, further expanding the GNSS receivers’ capabilities. This addition enhances the performance of the company’s  PointPerfect GNSS correction service in certain regions, ensuring more accurate and reliable positioning data. The advanced ionospheric model featured in the receivers ensures robust performance even during periods of elevated ionospheric activity, providing consistent and dependable operation.

The company’s commitment to innovation and security is evident in this latest update, which positions it as a leader in high-precision GNSS modules. The integration of Galileo OSNMA, along with improved spoofing and jamming detection, and support for additional satellite constellations, underscores its  dedication to delivering good solutions that meet the evolving demands of various industries. This update ensures that it remains at the forefront of GNSS technology, providing users with enhanced security, reliability, and performance.
